Crap. I sound like Andy Rooney. Not that that's a bad thing, but...Let me try again.
Have you ever noticed (I think that's better. Is it?) how you get ideas? People haven't often (or ever) asked me where I get my ideas for stories. Probably because the only people who have read my stuff are writers and they know where ideas come from.

It's strange, 
really. I think writers pull ideas from everywhere, from all experiences. Somewhere, deep in the center of a writer's brain, there's a cauldron. It's filled with a murky purple liquid that bubbles and glurks; that's where useable things go to perk. As time goes on, the cauldron fills and finally spills. Ideas flood the brain. Voices babble. Thoughts fly. The Muse is awakened and the writer must write!
